To The Letter

Flip through any catalog and you'll find out how hot letters really are. It's elementary and they can make a big statement. So forget Picasso and think playground. Use wood letter cut outs to spell your child's name in the room. Not only does it look great, but they get a little spelling lesson too. You can find wood letters in many stores these days and check antique stores for vintage signs and letters. Use your computer to paint words or phrases on to plain old paper and frame them to create a bigger statement in a room. You can also use just an initial and make it yourself. Use an inexpensive stretch canvass. Paint the canvass with a base coat and once it's dry, use painters tape to mask out the letter you want in any border. Paint over the piece with a contrasting color and allow it to dry. Then peel the tape off to reveal your letter art. Inexpensive ways to dress up your décor.
